2.8 to 2.9 conversion
I am in the process of converting a 1984 carb 2.8 to a 1987 2.9 fuel injection from a bronco to a ranger. I have the 87 for parts. Does anybody know of any problems other then wiring that I might run into? I already am aware of the fuel pump problems. Is there any fit up problems that anybody is aware of? I have already pulled the fuel shutoff wiring for the changeover. The thing I am not sure of, my 84 is manual tranny, the 87 is auto. Could this affect the computer? I noticed it is wired to the computer. I didn't think that would be a problem till I pulled the motor today. Any help or experience would be appreciated.
