the ol man has an old yamerhammer banchee, thing has about 20 psi compression. I think it has a YZ250 in it, or something like that. Once you got it started, that thing would go. Looks like a nice quad.

Dam, the last one I had was a lonnnng time ago, my beloved suzki quadilla LT500R. That was in 92, gave it up after a long stay in the hospital......figured I would start racing things with bars to protect me a little better...those were some great times!!

JJ what that set you back if you don't mind me asking...

these things are between $6-7k depending on your state.. but they are the hottest quad on the market right now(there the hottest sport quad ever made... yes ol-timers these ones are better than your old quadzilla or banshee or 250rs).. anyway there the hottest thing.. only 1 year theyve been out and they cant keep them on the floor.. give it a year and the price will come down... i couldnt wait.. i run sand and race XC(cross country).. and couldnt keep up with these bikes(IF YA CANT BEAT UM, JOIN UM).. yep its like that..........

Hey, my booses son just got one, it IS the best quad I have ever ridden!!! My boss got a 660R Raptor and his boy a YZF450, the raptor has KILLER bottom end, but the 450 has mid\top end power like crazy!!! It's like a 4-stroke banchee, I LOVE it, I will be getting one very soon, still love my blaster though lol check your carb, there was something wrong with his, took it to the dealer twice, said it is very common, it sticks at WOT, it ended up in a pond the first time, funniest thing I have ever seen, I feel off my quad laughing. Honda just came out with there 450, it's a joke compared to the Yamaha, and I like Honda's!

I wa told that the honda was slower and no comparison to the yamaha, although they did say that the honda jumped a little better, so the honda is as good as the yamaha? I love the way the handle bars and everything is layed out on the 450, but what is up with the seat? Rock hard! The raptor is soooo much more comfortable, but after ridding the 450 the raptor feels like a moped lol

What is the rated HP on that Yamaha?

I, like Yeti, used to have a LT500. Stock was 52 HP I think. Mine was 92 HP and very fast by the time I found out I was too old to handle the ouchies. My son bought it from me and sold it when he married. Now he has a Raptor, but he said it's very slow compared to that old LT500.

Make sure you don't under estimate the power band of a YZ250! I did last summer while I was pulling a wheelie at about 25 through my backyard. Started to lose it, touched the brake a little too hard, jerked the handle bars enough to throttle it a little and zing, it launched me! My shoulder that I landed on still hurts like a *****! Been riding since I was six, thirty now and I've never ridin anything like it! Sick! You have to love two strokes! You can see a pic of what I was riding in my gallery. Doesn't look like much from some hard riding, but she does what's important!
