I have a 1999 FOrd Expedtion EB, 5.4 AWD. I got the truck in September, It now has about 90,000 miles on it. I want to do a complete fluid change on it. Does anyone have any recommendations as tho what fluilds need to be changed (excluding engine fluids), I was wondering about the drive train fluids, i would like to cange all if them, can anyone list what they are?? Also when shpuld a tune-up be done? Any help would be great. This is my first SUV and not sure hot to maintain it...
i would put synthetic in the diffs make sure you add the ford friction modifier in the rear if you have a posi. put merconV
in the tranny and t-case. if you havn't done a tune up yet this is a good time. change the plugs/fuel filter/air filter. the plugs and fuel filter are a little tricky do a search on this website theres a few good threads that explain the process and tools required. you should also check the brakes if you havn't done so yet.
Coolant, power sterring fluid, brake fluid, tranny fluid, transfer case fluid, and rear differential. Thats about all I can think of. Do a thorough inspection of the truck. Inspect the exhaust, brakes, tires, everything.
