Does anybody know what "exactly" the Truspeed does? I know it recalibrates your speedodometer for bigger tires. And can change between different sizes by flipping a switch. But, does it take into account what gear ratio I have? I'll be doing a gear change in the next 2-3 weeks. I guess my real question is do I need to get my Diablo Delta reprogrammed for the gear change or can the Truespeed do this? Do I have to get the Truspeed and reprogram my Diablo chip? The tech guy at Superlift says no. I would love for the Truspeed to accomplish the tire and gear change and not have to go messing w/ the computer box, AGAIN! Thanks!

What it does is actually pretty simple. It doesn't actually mess with any computer deals or anything like that. What it does is mount in line on the speed wire between the rear diff and the computer. What it does is (not real sure on the technicallity) slow down the signal. Once installed it is adjusted manually to fit your needs. It doesn;t matter what gears or tires you run, you adjust it to your needs.
When i put mine in their chart was crap on how much adjustment, but after a while using a gps i got it dead on. I love mine.
Soooo to answer your questions... the truspeed will work perfect for you. It will change the signal so your truck only knows the ACTUAL speed.
The abs module is up under the battery wayyyyyyy town in that crack. Don't worry about that though. All you need to do is pull out the battery and tray, then under there will be a big wire harness. Open up that harness and in it you will find the wire you need. I forgot the color.. but it says in your instructions. Just make your splice there, it works fine. All the tru speed does is slow or limit the signal coming from the dif, so it works fine even if it is not right at the abs module. good luck.
I thought on the V10 it was underneath the air-intake conister? But I didn't install mine. I paid an extra hour of labor when installing the gears. And I thought the easiest way to get to it was going thru the wheel well. But what do I know? I do know there was a link w/ pics but forget it right now. Do a search and I'm sure it'll be there. here it is. http://fordtrucks.com/forums/showthr...ight=truspeed+.
Also, I think I heard the Ford dealer can reclalibrate for gears and tire size???....I hope so because I'm changing from 3.73's with stock 31" tires to 4.30 gears and 35" tires. Please let me know if I have to buy a Truspeed. Thanks!

I believe it depends on the year, I have heard of dealers not being able to
re callibrate 03s and up for 35"
Also, gears have nothing to do with speedo recalls
I have 33" tires with 3.73 gears on my 2003 F250 4x4. I am getting 4.56 gears so I called ford and asked how much to recal. They said they won't do it due to it messing with the stock equip on the truck and not emmissions legal.
Now Yeti said something about not needing a speedo recal with new gears? My truck is already reprogrammed by ford for the 33 tires. WHAT DO I DO? AHHH!
Your speedo reads off of the abs pick up which is counting teeth on a ring behind the ring gear so no matter what gears you have the speedo will not change, only tire size will change it, so if you alread have it programed for your new tires the gear change will not effect the speedo,
