I didn't think that list was going to end lol I also hate the way the V-10 sounds, but it's that or the underpowered 5.4, I also really like the fords, everything but the engine, chevy just got better when they replaced the 454, ford on the other hand went the wrong way, increase the engine size, give it more low end tq, more hp, more *****!!! The sad part is that the dodge V-10 has tons of power, killer low end tq, but it is a big engine 488ci Maybe the 3-valve V-10 is the anwser, I'm not waiting for it though, I figure they will mess up the styling or something stupid, i'm going to order one soon so I know what I am getting.
So what are you ordering? The V-10? I agree, I think Ford has the styling down, but is lacking on the engine/tranny choices. The Chevy got a new 4L80E or 4L60E with the 6.0 for 2003. This sounds like BS, but my buddies '03 6.0 would hit second hard enough that the tires would chirp every once in a while in tow/haul mode (it does all the time now with the chip/airbox/exhuast). We thought that the transmission was messed up, but they all feel like that. The allison has a feeling all of it's own. That sucker seems like it shifts forever, but always stays in the power band. The Ford auto shifts pretty soft. My Uncle's V10 is really slushy, and dad's 4.6 F150 is really really slushy. Definately not a performer. I need to drive a Torqueshift. I'd love to know what Ford has in store for the future. I'm sure they'll stay with a diesel in the lineup even though I hear that they'll have to get it somewhere else. And you know, this would sound crazy a couple years ago, but I woulnd't be totally suprised if Ford didn't supercharge either the 5.4 or 6.8 and add it to the SD lineup. They are having too much good luck with the roots blowers on the cobra and lightning not too. I'd add an SC5.4 Option to the lineup. However, if Ford would come back out with a big block style modular V8, I'd be sold instantly. I'd love to see 400+ inch pushrod V8 (although that's never going to happen in a Ford) , but I'd settle for a 6.02V V8 that could compete with Chevy's 6.0. Just my 2 cents.
