MAF Replacement

Any recomendations for an aftermarket MAF, I think mine took a dump. Scan Tool shows 0 voltage. Code 157 and 998. Runs rough at idle and lower RPM. Truck has 101000 miles on it, no complaints, this is the first engine issue I have had.

Do you mind paying about 300-400 for one? THis is for an aftermarket performance one. I"m not sure how much the stock ones run, otherwise check the bone yard

IMO, you don't need or want an aftermarket MAF. Do what Peter says, get a used MAF from a boneyard.

Or get an OEM reman from AutoZone, I think they go for about $75 w/exchange.

do you know how the aftermarket ones are designed that makes them better? in other words, why are they so expensive?

Peter, I'm not a big believer in MAF modifications to a stock engine, so I'm not really up to snuff on how the design characteristics of the aftermarket units are supposed to increase performance.

Follow up, replaced MAF sensor, ($80.00 after core) studdering is gone. THanks for all the info everyone.
