Well I guess I am,I would never own a cummins. And as far as better gas mileage I get 17 to 18 all day long . My truck has never been in the shop and more power????Wake up the powerstoke still romps all over the cummins. And your saying that if I go to a Dodge dealer the service department would be shut down because according to you the cummins will never break down.I would buy a tractor before I got a cummins because thats all it is good for 0 to 30 mph then all your low end torque is gone. Sorry but it doesn't fit my needs.

Heres a scenario for you. A guy with a 7.3 superduty wants to trade his truck off for a new truck. He says well Ill guess I go with the dodge this 6.0 business scares me. He gets the dodge. Is he happy No. Will he buy another Dodge after he has this one probably not. Fords got everything straightened out hell say time to go back to ford. Happens all the time. Ive seen alot of people trade in there Dodge cummins for powerstrokes. Does it work the other way. Very seldom. When you go from Ford to Dodge its a step down not a step up. Dodge has had the cummins for fifeen years and hasnt overtaken ford yet . Why would this be. People know better. You can fool some people some of the time but you cant fool them all the time. To all you 6.0 bashers out there your days are numbered when the engine has no more problems your still going to run it down. When the smoke clears the blue oval will be on top. Nothing has changed it never will.

17 to 18 mpg from a PSD? You aren't loaded, are you? Load that puppy up and you'll be getting the same fuel mileage as the V10 or just slightly better. The Cummins has been known to turn 20s empty. Ours is loaded to the max 24/7 and still returns 16 mpg on average. So yes, fuel economy is better with the Cummins.

More power...yes. Cummins makes equal HP and MORE torque than the PSD, does it with fewer cylinders, and makes the torque at lower RPM so you don't have to work the tranny so hard to take off with a load.

Slow as a tractor? Guess you haven't driven one. Our Cummins, even when loaded, will pull past 100 mph up steep Interstate hillsides. It's hardly the "tractor" you make it out to be. Why do road tractors with 40,000 lb. loads use the inline six design if it's so slow?

And as far as reliability...yes it's true the 6.0L PSD launch was the most disastrous launch I can ever remember. That one guy says there are problems with the new 600 Cummins. But those problems aren't nearly as bad. They aren't shutting off in traffic, they aren't blowing up turbos, and they aren't leaking oil into the crankcase like MOST of the PSDs are.

You want to drive Ford...that's your choice. It's a free country. I just know that if you guys had the Cummins in a Ford Superduty...you would be as happy as kids at Christmas. Trust me, I've driven both....and worked both.

like most of the Powerstrokes WXBoy? can you prove that statement? didnt think so. to borrow a phrase from sinister, "hype is hype" --good or bad.

btw sinister...of course we are gonna cut ford slack here. this IS a ford truck enthusiasts website. and its no different to what you are doin with the cummins. go to dodge forums. the cummins does have issues. taking the light off em to shine it on the strokers problems does not mean the problems disapear. and can anyone say the problems are less serious? a truck in the shop is a truck in the shop, whether its for a turbo, a fuel pump, a vibration or a blown engine...its all down time.
