Oven cleaner, good call. I'd be careful using it around any air dry enamels though because it will strip it. I use regular oven cleaner to strip model paint off of my model cars when I get the urge to redo them.

Brake cleaner is great for cleaning parts. Leaves no residue. Have no idea what it will do to paint.

Zep orange cleaner! Works great smells good and will not harm you paint.

I just bought a bottle of Castrol super clean. I gave it a shot and if you use it when every thing is cool it works fantastic in about 10 minutes. I can't say enough about this product, it doesn't harm the paint and it makes those hoses and plastic parts like brand new again. I also discovered that if you spray it on tree sap it will take it off too. Just be careful to not scrub it let it do it's job and I promise you it won't hurt your paint job. If you need to rub it a little just get a polishing cloth and dampen it with super clean and rub lightly. This stuff is awesome! I've found my new cleaner.
