Are you talking about coolant flush or oil flush? Coolant flush is a good thing to do when radiator fluid starts looking cruddy or every year or 2. I only use crankcase flush products if I'm dealing with a very sludged up engine, after I fixed a bad head gasket or on a running core engine I plan on tearing apart and rebuilding before I take it out of the vehicle. I would worry about oil flush products destroying an older engine's valve seals and rear main seal. For older engines that have very bad looking oil and minor blowby I will run the engine very hard and change the oil immediately while still hot 3 times in a day or spread the changes over a couple of days. This has worked great for me several times and not worked only once.
