Question Throttle Slack

hey guys...recently while adding a switch under my dash i noticed that my gas pedal moved downwards with little force..it then came to my attention that there is slack in the cable to my throttle by about 1/8 of an inch..should this b a worry or is it supposed to be this way? also, gas pedal is tough to depress at times after stopping...even while releasing clutch slowly hoping that it will grab, much force is needed to move the pedal...can anyone help with this problem? i love my truck but stupid little things are making me want to disown it...

Inside the gas pedal arm is a plastic bushung at the pivot point. If this bushing is cracked or damaged it can cause 'trouble' with the pedal. I suggest removing the pedal and checking the bushing, replace if needed. Other than that all i can say is check the manual or call FORD.

I relaced mine with a stainless bushing I fabbed my self. Oh the joys of having a machine shop at work.

As long as the pedal opens the throttle plate all the way don't worry about the slack.
