Picked up my new 2000 (right, 2000) F350, Dually, CrewCab, PSD, 4X4, at 11:45 this morning. 2 hours and 38 miles (68 total)later, I called a wrecker to come and pick it up from the roadside. PSD quit. Not getting any fuel. Tank full. Fuel bowl on top of engine dry. Any ideas? BE NICE!!!!!!!
Just as a footnote, I called the dealer and when I got to the dealer with it, there were 2 techs on it before the rollback was out of the way. Since it was after 4 pm by then, they had a loaner already gassed and with a tag, waiting for me. They found the "no fuel" problem right away, but were going to wait until tomorrow morning to go into it. The dealer is Stedem Ford, in Fort Meade, Fl.
The deal wasn't THAT attractive at first, but they called me later and made it so. The truck was just like I was going to order, 'cept for it has no CD. It even had the rubber flood I will NOT do without.
Update on the DOA. It was out of fuel. When they were preping it, they gave the keys to an assistant and told her to make sure it was full of fuel, she turned on the key and it registered full. Somehow the wire had come off the sensor at the tank. When that happens, the gauge goes to full. Everything is OK now.
