Sorry if this one has been beat to death but I did look in the FAQ section and didnt find it.
Im looking for a billet grill for my SD. I see a lot of different brands out there but am not clear on exactly how they fit.
Some say they fit over the existing grill. How do they look ?
And some of them look like they would obviously require some modifications to the existing grill. Do you have to butcher your existing grill to install these ?
Check out my '02 Gallery. It shows my Stull Industries "vertical" beefy billet grill. It lays over the stock grill, but it's hard to see it behind it. You have to remove the Blue Oval (PutCo has one that you can leave the Blue Oval in place). The fitment of the Stull was a 8 on a scale of 1-10, IMO.
I like it cuz it's not the typical "horizontal" style... but that's just me!
02Fidy,
Yes, I put MB Quart's in all four corners (stock places), along with the 8" Kicker sub-woofer, MB Quart cross-overs, and Premium Sound 800 watt amp. The Pioneer 12-CD changer is under the back seat also, passenger's side.
Don't be afraid to cut. You gotta butcher it if you want a really custom look. I got mine on ebay and spent about four hours cutting and sanding.
All the snowbirds in my town love it.
Has Billet grills on sale right now. I just bought one for my Excursion. Total with shipping was $82... Not bad, couldn't find one that cheap on Ebay....
