I am going about trying to find front end parts for my new 98 Limited, and the junkyards keep telling me that only parts from a 98 will fit, but the fenders and hood look exactly the same as my old 95. I am wondering if the older ones will fit the 98's? The other parts I am wondering about are the radiator support, the header panel, and the bumper. If I can tell them a different year, I might have better luck finding some of these parts used. If anyone has any knowledge about using other years parts, please let me know. Thanks!
One other question - Are the header panels different for the Limited models since they have a different grille? I looks to me from searching at car-part.com that the 97 and 98 rad supports are the same, and the 98-01 header panels are the same, and the 95-01 hoods and fenders are the same. Can anyone verify this info?
Sorry,
I know this because I just fixed my wife's 95 limited. 98 and up hoods are a 1/4" different in size. The books and even the dealership didn't realize it. As far as other parts, the header panel is the same and headlights etc. are. The grills are different and and the bumpers are a different style. Good luck on the limited parts, they are extremely hard to find especially the bumper. I found one locally but looked for two weeks before finding it.
The hood I used was a 98 hood and like I said its a 1/4" too narrow. I used it but the hood gaps show real bad. The grill and header panel were also 98. (grille was different style, but it was exact color which meant no painting.
