The government is going to tax us on something that they have no control of or have an interest in. Wait, then I should also send money to the airlines when I drive to California, because I could use it, but decided against it. This is a plan that could only be hatched in Washington.
If the USPS wants to raise money from e-mail, become a provider and take three days to deliver the e-mail. Then give people an option about making it quicker and the require people to pay twice as much for next day delivery. Then they could charge ten times as much for instantaneous delivery. I’d pay for that, NOT!
Gang.... please.... please.... please... stop the paranoia --- check the facts before reacting. This has been debunked for years on the Snopes site as an urban legend.
yes Ken, it has been posted before,on other sites ......but ....the reponse's to this ....well lets just say it keeps things interesting, I, for one have not heard of it before, and was taken in by it. i then did some checking and found it to be a hoax, but the repiles to this have been good reading, as most good hoaxes provide.and even your repile provided good reading.
After getting burned too many times I've started taking anything I see that claims a law is passed, someone did something stupid, a crook was caught, guess what so and so did, they hate veterans, etc., to www.snopes.com for verification. I'm not about to get suckered again.
if you want a good scam, read about dihydrogenated Oxide. DHMO it is great for people to get irrate and then feel uninformed.
I had heard about this idea five years ago, but with our government passing items at 3:00 A.M. without reading all of the bill's I would and could not be suprised. Anyone living in Arizona knows about Alternative Fuel problems.
I personally feel that something needs to be done to limit the amount of emails that are send and received. I work in the corporate world and receieve more useless email than I care to fathom. Probably a good 40% of my time at work is wasted either reading emails or responding to them. It wouldn't be that bad if the typical email could be cleared up with one original and one response. However, I typically have to send at least two or three replys to one email just to get my point across or to understand the point that is trying to be made. If there were limitations placed on the amount of mail that could freely be sent on a daliy basis, people would be forced to limit their emails and they probably would provide greater detail in their first post. And internet forums and chats would probably become more popular. People would communicate in these postst or via a service like AOL's AIM. That would most likely significantly increase productivity in the work place.
Just my $.02, but I know I would love to get less email
