What is a good determination for an '01 X Ltd 2wd diesel w /38k mi? It's a Limited so it has the goodies. The extras that I have found that were options on the Ltd it has incl the ltd slip diff, luxury pkg, 6 cd in dash, and htd seats. I go to KBB.com and it says trade-in is $24000, yet a customized trade-in appraisal in Edmunds says $19500. What gives why so much difference?
The dealer is giving me top dollar for my trade more so than what KBB and Edmunds say. He'll sell me the truck for $26500, down from his asking of $30995. The truck needs nothing and it's mint int and ext w/ 1 owner on carfax.
Basically, a big determining factor of what you guys (or gals) report back to me as to what their actually going for I could have a new X in my driveway (cuz it won't fit in my garage!) this weekend. Is this a good deal?
This sounds like a pretty good price to me. I work for an RV dealership that is owned by a Chevrolet dealership. Long story short I was looking to replace my 02 V-10 with a diesel and they are going through the action for 29-30G's in 4X4 with the limited package. For a 4X2 that is as nice as that one you won't get hurt.
I just purchased a '01 X Ltd, V-10, 2WD, Limited Slip, all the goodies except adjustable pedals. 27k miles for $21,000. The diesel makes yours worth a little more and the fact that they are offering you a high trade in offsets any premium in price. I probably would have paid $26,000 for it when I was looking but a cash deal with no trade made me push hard for best price. Location makes a bit of a difference too, we're about 30 miles North of Atlanta. Best of luck with it.
Price sounds fair and she a beauty but don't forget to check the tires because of the recall and make sure all the lock actuators work. Push the lock/unlock five or six times in a row, check that they all work on the last try.

they are firestone's. i'll check that. thanks for the door lock hint. is that a problem with the X? any other gremlins living in fords recently?
The actuators were my biggest irritation and if you check through this forum you will see they affected many others also. Other charateristics of the truck that owners usally try to modify is the handling. You will see many options by reading FTE. Check out my post "Super Deal-too good to keep to myself".
