Again..new guy with recently inherited 99 EB. Checking all the "stuff" I noticed that there is no lever/lug wrench in the jackstand compartment. Any clues as to whether or not I have to go through Ford to get this?
Buy a nice 4 way or a Gorilla wrench from the parts store. It will be stronger, last longer, and more dependable than a Ford wrench.
I have twisted the head off my Ford wrench before because the morons at the tire shop put the lugs on too tight. That was the last time I used a factory supplied lug wrench with any vehicle.
OK, you got me....I hadn't thought about that one because I carry a floor jack in the truck too. I got tired of messing with a jack that may get used once ever 3 or 4 years and when you need it, it's all seized up.
I just went out and bought a cheap floor jack in a case and I keep it behind the seat.
One other thing to consider, the jack is operated by the rod/handle that is mounted under the hood.
