i have a 94 f150 2 wheel drive, my passenger side front tire , up there, makes a thumping noise going down the road. its not the tire because i rotated them, its not the wheel bearings, what else could it be?
thanks alot for the replys
sounds like somethings loose i'd almost bet money you have a loose shock mounting bolt or a worn lower bushing in that shock. check the rest of the front end too. tie rods/ draglink/ balljoints/ radius arms/ controll arm bushings. if all the important stuff checks out look under the hood for anything that might be loose such as air box, jack tools, inner fender liner. let me know if i was close after you figure it out!!
ok, i'll do that after i figure it out. i replaced my front shocks , but i was in a hurry and forgot to buy new bushings for the shocks so i just left the od ones on. you think this could be the cause of my continuos thumping sound?
I worked for Ford in june of 9 I vaguely remember arecall for so called "clunking noise"especially when you turn if any had a 94-96 F-150 perhaps you could chime in.I have 94 -f150w79k and when I turn to the left it makes a clunk noise
radius arm bushings you will feel under your feet thru the floor board, also check your swaybar bushings if you have one, and a good place to look is the upper shock bushing, it will become compressed, and will leave enough gap to make that noise, you can take off the top nut, and add a washer.
