Early 99 PSD chip or programer suggestions?

I have a 99 psd build date 10/98, 6 speed with 3.73 gears. I'm thinking about purchasing a programer or chip for the truck but, am somewhat confused on which one to buy.

Is there a better choice for the early psd, then the later built engines? Seems most people rant and rave about how much better their autos shift after they chip them. But that won't apply to me with the 6speed.

Yes I plan on gauges, and I already have a homemade tymar intake and banks exhaust.

Thanks for the help. Chip
