It seems that Dodge is having trouble with new injectors ASWELL as Ford. Does anyone know if the injectors on gas engines are digitally contoled like the ones on the new Stroker? For all of the glory it recieves, it seems that on the whole technology has decreased the reliability of new generation engines, especially when they are first inroduced.
Just that waercan get in the throttle cable of some engines and freeze!
DaimlerChrysler said that the problem can occur when water gets into the throttle cable housing. If the vehicle is then exposed to freezing temperatures, the throttle could stick in the open position, causing what the company called "a crash without warning."
I don't defend DC. I just like to see the truth in these forums.
If they didnt make Fords I would buy a Dodge I guess. But a Chevy NEVER..... Thats why they make Honda's. I would tow my camper with a Honda civic before anything Grief and Misery makes.
Anyone know what Cummins did to their 5.9 Diesel to quiet it down?? I think right now that IF I had to have a 1 ton dually with a Diesel engine that I would buy the Dodge over the Ford for basicly two reasons: 1 being the ugly new body style of Ford is butt ugly to me, and so far I haven't heard anything good about Fords nes 6.0 liter Diesel.
Like with anything new in the auto world theres always a few bugs that come out when the truck goes up for sale that were not ironed out in testing, i believe now that ford has all the bugs out of the 04 PSD and have not herd any complaints....and to the last usser who wanted to get a dodge i personally dont like the quite trucks diesels, dodge use to be load until they came out with the new body style now there like gm diesels and you cant hardley tell there a diesel or running sort of like gas, all they did was put in a quiter and more restricking muffler, same 5.9 inline 6 cummins diesel engine that was in the the preveouse body style
Actually, the engine itself is quieter. Have you ever heard a cummins 5.9 run? They are LOUD. Not the exhaust either, the engine itself. I think the new one has offset piston pins, and later injection at idle for quieter operation. It won't be as durable, but should hold up as long as the rest of the truck.
