before you remove all the panels you should first remove the grill over the speaker , cut the wires and unscrew the speaker while pulling out with a little pressure. I was able to remove my sub on my 98 without removing any panels. It was only a 10 min. job for mine. It might work for you too.

How do you remove the panel?

I tried but when i slipped a flat head screwdriver I heard something crack. I must be doing something wrong.

I spliced he wires right in front of the power amp and installed a powered basooka. Now my truck bangs

Has any one here removed the 8 inch sub YET? from the 03, 04 or 05 Eddie X and what did you put back in it's place and how does it sound?

Thanks daveplot.....I've been searching for weeks now on how to remove the quarter panel. I was ready to give up and sell my sub and then I found this thread! Thanks again!

so what sub woofer did you put in ? I have a 10" ich Solo Baric the first one that they ever made and wow. It take 0.6 cufib feet I think. It not in the spot of the 8 bit it take's up NO SPACE.

I also Have the KenWood Excelon 8017 cd- changer, I-POD, + Nav and the Kenwood 10'2 over head and a sunvisor screen. 2 amp that are well hidden. I have some frends who can't find them (lol) JL Auido speakers. I would say J.L. Audio you pay but they so so good !
