Hey guys. Got a ? I have been considering the purchase of a 1994 F-350 4X4 with a 7.3 IDI diesel engine. I can get the pickup for under a grand, but the motor is probably out of it. I am thinking of either parting out the pickup or putting a Cummins in it. I was wondering if I could sell the engine anywhere as a core, considering that I will not be buying a reman 7.3 l. I think that the core charge is about $2000 when buying another engine, but I have no idea if the motors can be sold to a remanufacturing company without a motor being bought. I am assuming not, but just wondering if anyone here has an idea.
We've done it before here in KY, they took it for a little less than it would have been had we bought a new motor threw them, but it still saved us money.

Hey FireMarshall3311:
Who did you sell the 7.3 to? I have a 93 7.3 non turbo that runs and I am wanting to sell it because I don't need it. I live in Kentucky too.

Yeah, I think that I will probably have to ask a few different rebuilders around here if they will take it. Then again, if I do end up with the pickup and the motor only needs an easy fix, all the better.
