$250 2001 core engine
Just curious if this is a good price for one of these. I have a '96 engine with about 60K miles on it that I need to pull, so I don't have a direct need for this motor per se but was just wondering.

I'd say it is a great price if someone was looking for the forged rods only ($500 minimum) and if someone needed other stuff, then it's awesome!

I would think so. If I was still in VA I would take the trip to go get it. Could be a fun build if you had the funds/time. Just my $.02
For a quick comparison.

It may, or may not, have forged rods. My '01 is PMR.
(Edit) I see the ad claims forged.

If it has a good front cover and oil pan, that's enough reason to pay $250 for it.

IMO it's a good price and if it was close to me I'd be all over it.
