Another simple suggestion, I reviewed the message log on this thread and didn't see that the fuel filter had been changed recently. Mine was clogged with wax or something after 10k miles of cold driving and (assumed) poor fuel. It ran great most of the time, but hit that right combination of fuel and cold and it would just chug chug chug trying to warm up in the driveway.

You seem like you know what you are doing and I make no assumptions otherwise! When I start in on difficult things like this I first make sure I've covered the simple stuff.

brought it to ford's today and they ran dio on it and said there was nothing wrong no codes no nothing the tech started it and shut it off at least 5 times and it fired up right away every time , so i give them eighty buck's to tell me there is nothing wrong with my truck , so i bring it for a nice long ride and it run's perfect brough it up to about a buck thirty, and it sounded perfect, no miss fire no hesitation nothing. get it home and shut it down and tell my wife and she laughs at me
so i tell here to go bring it for a ride and she goes outside and it would not start, so she comes back in the house and laughs again, i go outside and get it going after about 5 min's and it run's like crap, missing, sputtering no power, hesitating when acelerating every was just as bad as before i brought it to fords , tommorow i'm going to check under the vaule covers for burnt or shorting wires, i hope i can fiqure this out soon

p.s changed fuel filter before i did anything else also changed the fuel before i did anything else.

Pdvan, be patient amigo. I went through the same thing back in December. Had the valve cover gasket (wiring harness) and all the wiring to the g/p's and inj.'s replaced with upgraded ones. Found two cylinder wires chaffed. I have read on the forum were a fella's truck would hit a bump and the trucks world would go to crap. Hit another and everything was ok. After all the things you've checked and done, I'd have to head to that direction next.

o.k checked both value cover gasket plugs inside and out and also the internal wiring harness for anything and they all had continuity, so i got my hands on a snap-on scanner today and checked some readings out.

from my book the hpop injecton press at idle should be about 500psi at idle and up to 3000psi on stock pump at high rpm's, my readings were around 380-400 at idle and could not get it to go over 1000psi when hot at high boost usally around 850-900 unless i really give it?hummmm? does this mean that my HPOP is pouched? or does it mean that there is an injector failer, but if it was injector failer i would of seen a code in memory right?

Anybody now how much dough a HPOP is???

and also would the injection pressure valve cause this drop in pressure?

just want to say thanxs to everybody that gave me info, the culprit was the IPR it was stuck closed and could not get the press to rise above 900, replaced ($500 ouch) and runs like its ready for another half million km.

Good find. I'll have to file that away in my "unexpected symptoms" file.

Was the regulator leaking externally, or just not functioning.

Injection Pressure Regulator. It's screwed into the back side of the high pressure oil pump.

I think I've seen a rebuild kit for the IPR (not that it does you any good now) and I know I've seen an o-ring kit.

Cookie when my truck was DOA the guys at he shop were looking real hard at the IPR. Something about it not functioning properly, stuck shut. Some how or another they traced the main problem with the PCM, which was bad and had to be replaced. I asked about he IPR and they said it was ok. The only explanation given. I know what the HPOP does and the IPR is part of it. Is it controlled by the computer or the pump itself? I know it's a dumb question but this has got me curious.
