Its finally time for shocks, after 120000+ miles, anyone tried Edelbrock shocks? They look interesting, my other thoughts were Monroe Reflex in front and Load Leveling Sensa-Trac in the rear, any thoughts and input on this would be most helpful, I occasionally pull a 3000 lb boat.
I bought mine from offroadwarehouse.com - they have an on-line tool that will walk you through the process of getting the right ones. Mine were $60 a piece for the rears for 4x4 LLS.
I wore out the factory rear shocks at 25K miles and replaced with Bilstein heavy duty. 100K miles on them now and they are still like new. And I am one who likes tight control so I don't tolerate sloppiness in any suspension parts.
I seem to be stuck in shock hell the last 16 months... installed edelbrocks which were great until they went thru a winter, then were as bad as the stock they replaced. Decided to get Rancho 9000s adjustable... after 5k miles I replaced them with warranty replacements from edelbrock because the ranchos were way too bouncy. Now I have gone thru another winter and seem to be having the same problem with the edelbrock replacements!
Too bad because when they were new I think the edelbrock shock was the best I have ever used.
I guess maybe I will try bilsteins next...
Anyone know a good use for a collection of bad shocks?

Yes, make a mobile and hang it nearby. If you keep them around somewhere you can see them to remind you that everyone makes mistakes, but the smart ones eventually get around to finding Bilsteins work in all kinds of weather and conditions and last forever. :-)
