Glove Box No Lock

2002 F-250 SD 4X4 XLT CC V-10

Is there a rational explanation why there is no lock on the glove box of my new truck? There is no other lockable storage such as a drawer under the passengers seat. This does not make sense. Even my 1988 F-150 has a lockable glove box.

Probably saved them 50¢ per truck, so they left it off.

I like to look at it this way...

They could have raised the price of the truck $1 and had $500,000 profit. I'm not saying it'd be a $1 option- just keep on putting the locks in the door and charge us another $1. C'mon- who here wouldn't have paid just $1 more for their truck?
