Gauge question for the guru's?
Hey fellows. I'm finally getting to order my gauges an my question is why should or do I need a boost gauge. I can see having a egt and trans. but my truck is not chipped or is not on a tuner. The only mods is a 4" dynomax exhaust from turbo back, the new ais intake, H/X cross-over from Tymar, that Diablo trans. valve where it gives a firmer shift and a new alum. trans. pan with extra 3 quart capacity. I'm not planning on chipping it or using a tuner so whats the benefit of putting a boost gauge. Also I like the Nordskog digital gauges, I guess they r a little more money but they look good, has anyone used these gauges and what do you think of them. Later.

For the most part a boost gauge is just a "gee whiz" thing to impress your friends. It can however become a valuable troubleshooting tool once you become familiar with your trucks baseline.

It can also help with milage - as you're running down the rode typically the less boost you are running the better your milage is. Not a life or death deal but if I had to do it again I'd still get a boost gauge... Your call.
