If you have the Continental tires on your truck like mine came stock....and you even think for the slightest bit that you need to change your tires, DO IT!!! I spent a lil while on the side of the road tonight changing mine, not fun! This tire just completely came apart, I've never seen anything like it. I'd say it was a defect or something if I didn't have almost 40k on them! I need to find some new tires ASAP and don't know what to go with. I've always heard good about michelin, but I do like white lettering, so if you have any ideas, feel free, and I'd rather not drop a ton of money into it!
A friend of mine just replaced his stock Goodyears with BFG Long Trails (2002 2wd Expy). Smooth quiet ride, huge improvement over the Goodyears. They may not be as good as Michelins, but a lot less $$$.
If about $550.00 out the door not much money, then I also recommend Michelin LTX's. I had them on my 00 Expy. Quiet and smooth. I bought them from Discount/America's Tire Company. You get lifetime balance and rotation. And road hazard warranty is not much more.
Just bought an 04 Expy and can't stand the Continentals on it, they don't seem to be good in the rain. I don't have that safe feeling. Fortunately it rains once in a blue moon in San Diego. Except for this past weekend.
But when the time comes, Michelin's will be my choice.

Where did you get these for that price? The best price I've seen for those are close to $680. They look like nice tires and I would definately consider them if I could find them a lil cheaper!
You should hit www.tirerack.com and do a search for tires in the appropriate size. The search results will contain prices.
Just remember that:
1. The cost of a premium set of tires is not that much more than a set of cheap tires;
2. They should last for a long time, so you won't have to bite the bullet that often; and
3. 6,000 lbs. of SUV demands a pretty good tire.
If you need a slightly more aggressive thread than the all-season Michelins offer, I would take a look at the Bridgestone Dueler A/T Revos. Note the word "Revo", as Bridgestone has similar-sounding model names within their tire line.

Go to this site and find your nearest dealer, tires for a NAV I assume are bigger than an 00 Expy XLT, so that could factor into it also. but I always found them to have the cheapest prices and the lifetime balance and rotation at no extra cost, has always lead me to them. You can also play the dealers (Bridgestone, Goodyear, Discount/America's tire company) and they'll fight for your business. If there are enough around in your area to do so. Just within maybe two sqaure miles I have about 4-5 tire stores. So that's what I do. They can always go down on the intial price they quote you at. But again Discount/America's tire company is my choice!!!
disregard the first Tires link and when you click on the cheap tires link, you will have to select the "Click Here" button after this sentence "I'd rather visit the company that doesn't sponsor Ford Truck Enthusiasts, take me to the site I clicked on" and your there. hopefully your near one of these locations. Good luck!!!
I bought a set of Nitto's for my wife's minivan from www.discounttiredirect.com and the whole experience was very good. The valve stems that came with them were really cool and the tires are needless to say the best we have ever had. Try them out, their priced include shipping and I had my tires mounted at Sam's Club for a whopping $16 total.
The Michelin LTX M/S tire is a great on the road tire. I used to get 60K miles from them before wearing down to 1/4 inch, which is my minimum. I now now have Bridgestone Dueler A/T Revos on my Expy and I think they are perfect in almost every way. Both the Michs and the 'stones come in white letter.
Thanks everyone for your input, I'm currently deciding between the LTX M/S, the dueler A/T Revos, or a set of Yokohamas that are rated really well against all the other tires on tirerack for my vehicle.

Yes, there is a recall and I had one separate on a summer vacation, but General stated that there was normal wear and tear on the tire and it only has 28,000 miles on them. $1,700 worth of damage later and I will NEVER again use General.
I have Nitto 404 Extreme Force tires for the last 12,000 miles and they show very little wear and the ride is very smooth.
I haven't had a problem with the Continental's myself. I went to those after the Goodyears were gone. I have about 40K on them now and they still look good. I always make it a habit to inspect them whenever I wash the truck to make sure they do not have anything that looks out of the ordinary.
