Continental tires

With all the negative threads about the Continental tires no one may want to admit it, but I would like to know if anyone has had good luck with this tire. If you have please indicate whether it is the all season or so called all terain. I also understand that they just changed their tread pattern, any truth to that.

dhawk57,
I mentioned earlier on about the tread on my newly purchased continentals. What I stated earlier was that the tread was different (more aggressive) on the ones I just bought from the ones that came on my 05 Super Duty when new. One thing I noticed recently was that these tires weren't what I thought I ordered, when I ordered Contitrac TR's. They don't have the TR on the sidewall like the ones on the truck when I bought it. Maybe that is what the difference is, is they are not the TR model?? If so, then the non TR model tires have better tread than the TR's??? Or maybe Continental changed the tread design after getting alot of complaints from customers?? I hope this helps answer your question. I would contact Continental Tire Mfg to find out what they say 'bout this.
Let us know what you find out.

Only 4K miles but no complaints. No vibration, no flat spots, does okay in snow with 500 pounds of sand in back.

Good idea, I think I will call Continental. I have emailed them with no response. I have a truck on order and I think I can still change to the goodyears but don't want to spend the $ if I don't need to. I will report back findings from my call on Monday.

Watch the sidewalls. They will split. Not if but when..... All of my complaints came around 15,000/ 20,000 mi. Buy Goodyear and be done with it.... IMO

dhawk57, On my '05' the conti's have 48,000 miles and they are looking good. They ride good, not a bad street tire but once you leave the street or get into snow that's a different story. I put BFG's on the truck for winter and will put the conti's back on in the spring.

I went to the Continental website and looked at their tires and they have a contrac truck tire that is an all season that is not a TR. Not sure if this is the one you have or not. Also, their phone number is an out of country number so I will not be calling but I did email a few weeks ago and got no response from them. I am still undesided if I should switch to the 20" goodyears on my order or stay with the Continenetals. I do know that Michelin is coming out with a 275-70-18E in the summer of 2007.

Glad to hear about Michelin coming out with an 18" E-rated next year. I've always had great luck with Michelin.

However, my 18" Contis have 32K on them and they look like new and ride great down the highway (but no good for off-road or snow). I rotate every 8,000 miles and I expect I'll get over 50K on this tire. For an OEM tire on a heavy F250 PSD FX4x4 I think that's fantastic.

Which size and kind of Continental do you have. There is the contitrac tr which I think is a so called all terain and then a contitrac which is a highway all season.

I'm on my second set of conti's because the first set did so well I bought them to replace my first set of 18's on my F-250. I did 57,000 on the first set and never had a problem went back to the dealer and bought the next set because he beat everyone's price on the new tires. They may not be the best on the mud circuit but there great on the road were I spend 95% of my time. I probadly could have gotten more miles but I decided to change before winter weather.

My 05 came with the all season Continentals, which I have since replaced. On dry or even wet pavement they were great. But thats about it. Any kind of snow, ice, mud or dirt and they were horrible.

I'm on my second set of Continental 17" on my 05 f350 dually. The first set were replaced at 70k and I have 50k on this set. I have had no problems dry, wet, snow, or ice.
