Arrow common front bumper problem

just like so many other ford trucks of this model my front bumper got hit and now the passenger side is bent down. I've seen so many other fords with this. I tried placing a jack under it to bend it back, but no results, I heard there are bolts to adjust it, but even as a mechanical engineer, i couldn't picture it fixing the problem. Has anyone delt with this before, or know of any good aftermarket /replacement bumper sites?

I just bought my 1988 F-150 and the bumper was pushed in on the left side.

I got my trusty tow strap and went behind the loading dock of my neigborhood supermarket.

I attached the tow strap to the bumper and to those concrete filled metal poles they have in the ground behind the loading dock. Then I just backed the truck up and pulled the bumper out with the strap.

It pulled right out and looks almost "good as new"

You can't tell it was pushed in unless you know what to look for.

get new bumper brackets if you want it to look like new...they are very cheap and can be had at www.autobodyparts.com otherthan trying to heat the brackets up and then jacking it up I don't think your gonna be able to bend it back up...i've pulled bumpers back out like david did. But i've never got one to bend back to the stock location without new brackets. goodluck!

I had to put 3 or 4 washers between the bumper and the bracket to get my bumper back straight. Worked like a charm. Just space out the top bracket until the bumper levels out.

After struggling with my bumper several times, I did like aikigod mentioned about using washers. After that I never had troubles again.
