Bumper sag...?

I have a '95 F-150. The front bumper is sagging in the corners. The drivers side is the worse one of the two sides. My question...is there anyway of fixing this? Perhaps loosening the nuts and trying to adjust it some way? I tried once and gained some, but it still bothers me. It is really noticable now that I have a push bar on it. I've seen many other fords in the 92-96 body style with the same problem. Any help welcome here. Thanks alot guys.

Loosen both sides bolts (2 bolts per side) and push the bumper up as high as you can while someone else tightens the bolts. An impact gun would work best because a lot of torque is needed to keep it from drooping again.

You can also adjust the angle of the bumper about the lateral axis, which will rotate the ends up or down, by adding a washer to either the top or bottom mounting bolts between the frame mounts and the bumper mounting brackets if your bumper is looking like it has either a sad face or a smiley face to it..

sag

i lived in nothern ontario for alot of years and saw this problem often, mostly
because the bumper was used as a push bar. there's a few ways u can do it
1- loosen the bracket to frame bolts and and push up on the outside corners
until it's straight then tighten the bolts, this normally works for minor sag.
2- take the carriage bolts out of the bumper and install shims or washers between the inside of the bumper and the top ends of the brakets
3- may have to replace the bumper or the brackets
hopefully you don't have to replace anything but you gotta do what y'a gotta do.

These front bumpers arn't really designed to be strong. They are designed to absorb the impact of a crash. I had a little accident back in 2002 and the bumper will bend down really far if you hit something like I did. I hit a 97-03 F150 from behind when he cut me off. When I took the bumper off there's not much support for the bumper, compared to my 82 F100. It was my 95 F150 by the way that this happened to.

I was thinking of putting washers in it. Just wanted to see what people think. Me and a couple buddies will probly give it a try this weekend or next. I was thinking of loosening the nuts, putting a HandyMan jack on each corner and lifting until it was even, then shimming it up or any other necessary means of bolting it back up.

BTW...Thanks for all the replies everybody!

i got lazy. I just jacked it up and welded it in place. I kept having to re-tighten the bolts because it would fall. so i did that.

Drew, I may end up welding mine on too, or at least tacking it in a couple spots to keep it where I put it. Even with Nylock nuts on the bolts, mine has moved a few times. I'm sure frame flex has something to do with it too.

Drew, where did you weld it? Did you just like weld the bolts to the bumper mounts or what? I'm sure frame flex has a good part to do with mine. I don't like bringing it up, but my pickup's been on a frame straightener before. (Good bad or otherwise...)

Yep faroffthetrack, mine bent down the same way. Only not so far and I didn't have any damage do the hood. It bent down and blocked my right tire and I couldn't turn to the right. I was going to take the bumper off but the cop that was there said I couldn't do that and I had to call a tow truck to tow my truck home. After about an hour of hammering I got it all back on and just left it the way it still is today.

i just tacked the bolts so they can't move. Nothing that isn't reversible. and i think i put tacks between the bumper and the frame to kinda take some of the load off the bolts.

A home welding project:

And if it were hit in the front, it will not flip down and back like the factory bumper, destroying the grill and valance panel.
