I have a 99 F-250 SuperCab that came with factory running boards. I have removed the running boards and I now get CRUD between the doors and rocker panels. Is there a solution for this or are my doors out of alignment? This isn't a problem except when it is raining and my wife and I are dressed up. She isn't happy when she gets the CRUD on here climbing in and out of my truck!
there is supposed to be a bubber deal at the bottom of the door to keep that crud out, but it doesnt always do a good job. make sure that rubber peice is there. other then that i dont know how to help ya.
I double checked and there is no rubber strip on either side. The crud doesn't come in the truck just on the thick outer part of the rocker panel. The part I am talking about is where the latch is for the supercab door. Is the rubber strip mounted to the bottom of the doors or on the rocker panel itself?
the rubber peice i am talkin about is mounted on the bottom on the door side. so it sounds to me like you are missing it though. let me look at my truck when i go home and find out fer sure how much it covers.
I have this same problem on my brand new 2002. I have the rubber peice, but it still lets the muck get on the rocker panel part.
I know exactly what you are talking about and I don't know if there is a cure. Around here they throw down a bunch of sand when it snows and I get all that sand build up in that part of the rocker panel. And then when I get out of the truck if I am not careful I get it on my pants legs.
If you find a cure let me know, The only thing I can say is that I keep my truck pretty clean and when washing, I open the doors and get that gunk off.
How about not wearing pants I'f it really bothers you that much try putting foam tape behind the rubber flap it might hold the flap against the rocker better.
