transmission conversion help!!

i have an 83 f1504x4 300ci with 4 speed manual. i have a 351w and an aoutomatic tranny i am putting in. what do i need to do to install my transfer case on the automatic tranny? will the input shaft on the 4-speed work?

Is it a C6 transmission? You will need a C6 with the 4wd output housing and shaft for a bolt up installation. There is another thread somewhere about converting 2wd C6's to 4wd output.

The manual shaft will do nothing for your new transmission except act as a crowbar to help line up the bolt holes.

it would be alot easier and better to just leave the 4 speed in it.

But, if you really want the C-6, you just have to change the C-6 to a 4wd tailhousing.

I think all you would need is a flywheel for the 351. The bellhousing will bolt up.

i have a replaced hip and the 4-speed is not the easiest to push!! i will find out what the tranny is, i do know that the 351w is fuel injected maybe that wil help. but i'll give yall the id asap. do i need to find a tailshaft then, that is 4 wheel drive?
