C4 Slipping 2nd-3rd?

C4 Slipping 2nd-3rd?
Got a slight problem with my C4 trans, whilst driving along normlly when box shifts from 2nd to 3rd it slips before engaging, but if i use it manually and shift from position 2 to drive it locks in fine????
Also i think i know the answer to this but just in case, the box also seems to shift up to 3rd really quickly at low RPM, and when at standstill pulls away in 2nd most of the time. Got a new modulator to try, one of the adjustable ones see if that works, any other ideas welcome.
