well heres the story, my buddies buildin up a 300 6, prety nice motor, we ordered an offenhauser dual port intake for it, when we got it i knoticed some horrible amounts of casting flash arround the ports, we ground most of it off but that was some prety crappy attention to detal. when we put the intake on all of the bottom bolts had to be modified to clear the runners, thats just crap. after we got all that straightend out we got the carb offenhauser recomended, a holley 390 and went to put it on. we attempted to put the carb on but the throttle linkage was hittin the manifold. we figured ok we'll get a 1 inch carb spacer and try again. we got the spacer, put the studs in the intake and went to drop the spacer on, no go. offenhauser drilled the holes in the intake crooked, the studs threaded in but pointed off on different angles. the holes for the carb studs look like they were drilled by hand and tapped by someone that was somewhat drunk. save youself the headache and stay away from offy!
I have had no problems with mine- have you contacted them, and asked for a replacement?
The linkage hitting is a known issue with these intakes- most people put the carb on backwards to solve it.
If you use the last four digits of the jegs part number on the summitt racing manufactures listing under offy it will come up. It's also cheaper. Put 6019-DP in the block.
