Someone mentioned that the Weathertec(sp?) version uses fasteners instead of tape. I also think that the Bugflector series from Ventshade can use tape or screws.
Also, you can usually manipulate the installation position of the shields so that there is no contact with the hood.
Check out the website of www.lundinternational.com
they own a few different companies that make the hood sheilds with some different styles to choose from. most of these shields are No drill installations. good luck 95rcobra.

Hey outpost22, not to change subjects but what kind of tie down system are you using for your lance. Have seen bad photos of damage done by using happijac system like I had on my previous truck. I was recommended to use a frame tie down system.
The one I have is made by I think magnum or at least that is in the title. It screws into 3 holes under the hood and fits great. I would recommend this one to any one looking for a bug deflector....If you are interested I could look tonight and post the manuf. in the a.m.
Thanks for the advice, I settled on the Lund Interceptor. This one stays away from the hood but still looks aerodynamic. It also mounts using 4 existing holes in the hood with self tapping screws. Much better than the MPC setup I had on my last truck. Much appreciate your comments.

I too prefer a frame mount system. However, with a brand new truck and a Ford dealer telling me "Ford doesn't like frame mounted camper systems because they put side-loads on your frame. It could cause warranty issues if your frame cracks". I went Happijack. When the warranty is over, I'm going frame mount Besides, if I'm ever in a situation (God forbid) that the camper decides to unintentionally leave the truck, I'd rather have it do it without me attached ... just kidding
Bugflector is the way to go. I have a gold deflector to match the truck. I bought it from Walmart. They had to special-order it; it took about 5 days to get in.
I've been eyeballing the Lund Interceptor Stainless Steel deflector. Thought it would look good with the chrome grill against the woodland green body color.
