I had my engine replaced in my truck and 2 weeks after I got it back the transmission failed (it's hard to believe that a new tranny would fail at 3800 miles} and I was wondering if the dealer could have damaged it during the engine swap also after being reassured a half dozen times that I would be getting a brand new factory unit it looks to me like they are putting in a reman. (black plastic crate with reman. sticker on the side and a nice green tranny inside sitting next to my truck) has anyone had a reman put in their trucks and if so any problems. Also now that I have a reman engine and tranny will the value of my truck substantially deprieciate because I am definitely selling it.

How old is the truck? Which motor? What's the total mileage?
Sometimes remans are better than assembly line stuff as ONE (possibly good) mechanic may have re-assembled it. Or if it was on a Friday

truck was bought new in Sep. 2001 it has a 5.4 motor that was replaced due to piston slap which was diagnosed at 2000 miles as for my situation I have a bunch of posts on this board explaining the nightmare I've had with the truck. just read my lemon law post it should explain it all.
