Engine Computer and Other
I have a '93 F250 with a 460 and 136,000 miles on it. In the past I was getting about 13 mpg when running the interstate. In about the last 6 to 10,000 miles the mpg has dropped to about 11 mpg on the interstate. I was told by an independent mechanic that Ford's engine computers freqently went bad at about 130,000 miles resulting in bad mileage. Another issue that may(?) be related is my Trip Meter cannot be selected on the odometer and every once in while the speedometer needle bounces all over the speedometer.
Are these indications of a computer going bad? If so is there a replacement that allows some tuning as I know the originals in the '93s were factory set and could not be tuned or adjusted?

I would look into the speedometer, cable, and speedo drive as the culprit. If the needle is bouncing it may not be tallying enough miles.
