Well guys, just talked to my salesman and he said they are going to take care of the scratch....they are sending it out to be painted! NOT...told them thats unacceptable, to order a new truck. Now I'm waiting for the owner to call me. I don't want to create a battle here but why should I take the hit on this?
Also said that they will not get me a hood blanket....I found a thread that has a blurb on the owners manual like this:

WHAT"S UP WITH THAT! It cost $80...that's all. This dealer is really ****ing me off. I got my hands on the plug and am ready to pull it.
I'll bet the next dealer would love to have your business. These guys are just bluffing, it's part of the game they play. I know, I used to play the same game. It stresses them as bad as it does you. That is why the employee turnover is so high.
The owner is locked in on the profit he thought he made on the deal when he ordered the truck. Probably already paid commission, booked the deal, so they hate to go back.
You have control as long as they don't have all your money. You can always go elsewhere and let the lawyers sort out your deposit.
they will have to give back your deposit also because the truck is damaged and you dont have to take it unless you want to, but as a thought you might consider taking the truck with a written guarentee on the paint to include fading and peeling and cracking and also the hood blanket included at no charge to you remember you have to be willing to walk away from the deal if they see you are willing they will do what you want or loose the sale and you just ease down the road to another dealer and order a new one just make sure they dont do a dealer search and find your scratched truck and go get it from your old dealer.
Here's the deal....The owner just called me. He's panicing. Tryed to convince me that they will paint it and I'll never know. I explained that I do not want a new truck that has been worked on...period. I said that I want to buy from him and to order a new one. He say, "so your gonna stick me with it"....HA! right there I knew I had him cornered. Then in the middle of it all he says "oh, we found a rebate for you and you are going to get some substantial money back"...
I gave my salesman a printout yesterday of a partial thread on the Quota Incentive reguarding X-Plans. States that they have to give it to me it's my money.....I've been telling them that for a month now and all of a sudden they "found some money for me"...well.
This guy never so much as offered me a bone at all. I asked for the hood blanket and the glove light and they said no way. Well, to make a long story short, he is going to have someone look at the damage Mon and see what needs to be done and call me....yea, right.
There's a principal involved here now....don't you cry to me about getting stuck with a vehical..This is the 2nd biggest purchase asside from a house most people make(mine was my boat....whooo....hooo)
I'm going in there Mon...I'de like to say here what I'm gonna do but I don't want to show my cards yet....never know who reads these things.....

I'm finally a believer! I spent a couple of hours over the last couple of days on the phone with Ford. My purpose was to find out how many F-250, 350 and Excursions they had sold with 6.0 diesels. They wouldn't tell me. Said that information was for internal use only. I guess they have something to hide.
I bought my truck December. there was a $3000 dollar rebate, and also $2000 off sticker. I think it has more to do with how bad sales are in a given area. North Carolina is in a pretty good recession- trucks are cheaper. I think Ford allows some dealers to cut prices to move trucks. I heard Crossroads Ford Was knocking $7000 off all psd's two weeks ago. All I know is my truck Runs like a scalded Cheetah. I love it. No problems!!!
I don't watch a lot of television but was watching last night and saw an F350 SD 6.0 DRW commercial. The commercial talked about power and towing capacity, and then demonstrated the towing capacity by showing the truck towing a triple axle trailer with something like 30 refrigerators on it.
What does it mean? I cannot recall ever having seen a commercial for a diesel pickup of any make. Could it mean that sales have slowed and someone at Ford is starting to feel some pressure?
They also have one of a Ford and a Chevy Pulling trailers drag racing with the Ford pulling away. It is the marketing dept. responsibility to sell trucks. If they get a bad rep, they advertise more.
bob I agree with this to add Idont think they have empowered the right people to solve the problem. do you remember when someone posted it was important to call ford exect. offices and complain and there were several that did and they said they were not aware of problem. I still think there are a lot of first time diesel buyers out there that dont know that the diesel is supposed to get better mpgs then gasburner and so they say it is big truck its not supposed to get good mpgs, its just hard for me to believe that, there are not more out there getting terrible mpgs. that was my long winded way of saying ford doesnt yet know what to do to fix these 6.0 engines.
The sad thig here is that they are gonna sell them basically no matter what. They may not sell as many but they will sell. We as consumers only have so many choices and they are very limited.
If we want to be "loyal Americans, there's three. Even putting that aside, there's still only three....until the forgen trucks can measure up to a 3/4 or 1 TN domestic, there's still really three.
The only reason I am buying a Ford is because it's the lesser of three evils(actually 2 cause Dodge don't count...Blah!) The reason I'm getting a diesel is that there is no other option...the 5.4 is a dog and the v10.....no way
These aren't girls were dealing with where there a dime a dozen...out with the old and in with the new.....theres a limited # of models to chose from.
Boyz, theve got us by the short and curlies....you will buy it, pay a lot for it, and you WILL like it...
Just my stupid opinion.....can't wait to get mine!
