the plazma panel is rated(hours to failure) to last longer than a standard crt tube, how ever if the panel does go out(usally do to physical damage, dropped, banged, or hit)it would not be worth it to fix it, on the other hand, other than the panel, it is just like a normal tv and the same things can go wrong with it as with any other tv, and can be fixed just the same
