I have an oxy/acetylene setup, and a small hobby arc welder, and I'm half decent with both of them. They wouldn't be much help on this job though, probably do more harm than good, at least with my current skills. I'm hoping to take a welding course this summer at night, when I have time between my spring and fall semesters, although I may take a summer semester if I can graduate sooner, then I'll do the welding in the fall. I'll get a welder after I take the class, because I'll know more of what to look for in one. By then if the rust comes through again I'll weld it up.
