I think you'll have to e-mail Ken to change your user name. I believe that you'll lose all your "history" as it stands now. ie # of posts, gallery etc.
As for brake pads...here's my update. My Excursion has 48K on it and the pads still have a lot of "meat" left. The rotors however, suck...
I don't get it. Soft rotors, hard pads. Seems it should be the other way around.
Too bad asbestos turned out to be such a health hazard.It did make for some damn fine brake pad material.I installed carbon metallics on a F-150 and they worked well.However,I didn't keep it long enough to see how the pads and rotors held up.I also once had a dealer mechanic state that the larger the tire,then the more rotor problems that are experienced.

48K and I'm going on the third time turning them. There may not be enough meat left this time. It may be the added weight of the Excursion. My tires are the stock size. It could be the tire jockey wielding an impact wrench for probably the first time, could've help cause it too.
I am approching 84000 miles and I have a feeling in the pedal that the rotor is warped. It has new pads 10000 miles ago. I guess I will turn the rotors see if that works.
I got about 50k on my first set of pads, but the brakes always felt weak. Replaced with ART slotted rotos and performance friction pads, which worked great. '99 V10 F350 4x4. New truck is '02 PSD CC DRW, factory brakes feel pretty good.
