i am having the hardest time trying to find some fender liners for my 77 truck, does anyone know where to find them? I have searched the internet and cant seem to find any, did they even come on the 77, it seems like they would but the rocks and mud and water are hitting my door. should i just make a little shield to protect my door? and coat the whole thing with rhino lining? any suggestions or anyone know where i could find the plastic fenderwell liners? thanks
You didn't specify front or rear wheel wells so I suspect the front. Ford used a complete inner fender liner in the front wheel wells is '77 which were made from plastic. They show up on ebay on occasion and seem to be plentiful in the salvage yards. They will not prevent road debris from gettin on the side of you truck. I found a set for the rear wells on my truck many years ago from JC Whitney but they are no longer available. In order to keep stuff off the sides of my truck, I installed a set of alum. running boards and pop-rivited some aftermarket mud flaps that say Ford on them to the bottom for added protection. My friends said they would hang me up in the mud but the front tire cuts a rut and the boards follow along. I did trim the boards up some so they would fit closer to the bottom of my cab. Check my gallery.
thanks for the info, I'll have to hit some junk yards, there are not many up here in northern arizona. i saw a 78 bronco out in the parking lot next to my dorm here and he had some plastic/rubber sheeting for a fender well liner, I'll have to ask the person where they got the material and fab up my own.
best off to find a good set in a junkyard. they are 120 apeace i cant remember where i found those prices at because i just got some out of a junkyard a few months ago for my 79
wow 120 a piece, i was digging around and found them in the national parts depot catalog for $100, which is still pricey. but thats about the same used from a local junk yard.
To garypettengill What did you use on the underside of your bed?? In your gallery it said rolled on bed liner from walmart. I tried that stuff on some small items and it was real hard to work with and was wondering if its the same stuff.
