Front fender liners

Front fender liners
Does anyone know if the front fender liners can be metal?? I have two 79 F-100s and both are plastic but are need in replacement. I done some digging and found a dealership in AZ that has them but they are metal..... I have never seen metal fender liners for these trucks. Is this correct? Any info would be greatly apprectiated.

I have never seen or heard of metal ones. I think I would stay away from them, especially if the are not returnable. You could have a little tweak in the fender and the plastic ones would be flexible enough to compensate for it, but I doubt that the metal ones would. Plus the fact that if you pick up a rock and it hits the plastic it is fairly silent. I imagine that it would make a pretty loud bang if it hit the metal ones. I think I would keep looking for plastic ones. You can buy them new from AutoKrafters, but they are $120.00 apiece.

alconk: You are confusing the inner fender PLASTIC liners (used 1976/79) with the inner fender STEEL aprons used 1973/79.
These are NOT the same parts!
The plastic inner fender liners are:
D6TZ16102A .. Right Inner Fender Liner
D6TZ16103A .. Left Fender Inner Liner

The steel inner fender aprons are:
D9TZ16054A .. Right Inner Fender Apron / Fits 1973/79 F100/350 2WD & 4WD
D9TZ16055A .. Left Fender Inner Apron / Fits 1973/79 F100/350 4WD only.
or
D9TZ16055B .. Left Fender Inner Apron / Fits: 1973/79 f100/350 2WD only.

Don Sanderson Ford in Glendale AZ has all the aprons (more than enough!), but not the liners. No Ford dealer has the liners.
These are NOT the same parts!

So are you looking for the inner fenders or the plastic splash liners that attach to the fender and inner fender? If you want the plastic liners I have a set that I was going to trash. If you would want them let me know.

Just called Sanderson Ford and they do not have any inner fender aprons in stock. The guy said they had some but were damaged and they "sent them back"! the parts guy said he just needs to take these out of inventory.
PS. I'm looking for a NOS pair if any surface.

You may consider ( Tubbing it ) ! A lot of hotroders do this, and it would help save the
front fenders and front cab mounts!
P.S. suummit or jegs would have the tubbs premade, and you cut and fit!

FTE member Alconk contacted me earlier today and is (now) looking for a left (D6TZ16103A) side only.
I couldn't find any lefts, but I did find the right side.
D6TZ16102A .. Right Front Fender (Plastic) Liner
Green Sales has 6 = 800-543-4959.
Dennis Carpenter has 12 (that's right, 12) = 704-786-8139

I just found 3 right side steel FENDER APRONS NOS in case anyone's interested.

Clevenger Ford in Porterville CA (just NE of Bakersfield) has one = 559-784-6000
When I looked recently, no dealer had one.
Now one dealer shows it..musta cleaned out his body shop or something.
