Plastic inner front fender liners

I'm sure this thread has been covered before but can't find it. Does anyone know where to get those great inner fender liners that came on 77-79 F250s? Can't find any in the wrecking yards that are still useful. Someone must be making new ones (I hope). Thanks for any advice you might offer.

I don't know where to find replacements, but I just ditched mine all together. They seemed to trap a lot of dirt and moisture. There's nothing above them that needs to be protected from the elements as it is, just my .02 cents.

From what I have seen the plastic fender liners seem to keek the crap off of the front cab mounts better, and keeps them from rusting out as bad? They definitely do collect moisture on the fender area so it is a trade off. I have wrecked a couple of '75 ish trucks whick didn't use the fender liners, and the front cab mounts were completely gone.

Ya, Asigalet, I think it depends on many factors - if you drive on clean city pavement all the time, then the plastic liners are probably counterproductive. Where I drive there is wet mud and gravel all the time and its amazing how the muck gets caked on everything. The truck is permanently wet from September to June. If you look at the fenders on my 76 F250 the Ford boys put a small flap of rubber along the back inside flange to stop spray damage - not good enough. Of course if the first 6 owners of the truck had washed it out once in while.....

Here's a good fender liner story - I was driving my 79 f250 on the highway in moderate traffic when all of a sudden there's a great bang and a screaming rubbing noise from the front driver's wheel. Lasts about 20 seconds while I slow down and pull into the right lane to get off, then another huge bang under the cab, another at therear, and it's over.

"Darn trucks!", I'm thinking I got some exploded truck tire stuck in my wheels.

Pull over, check underneath - the fender liner's gone. The anchor must have let go and it fell down into the wheel before it ripped out the last anchor(s) and spit it outon the highway. Long gone. Darn.

Update on plastic fenderliners: neither Denniscarpenter or LMCtruck can supply these parts. Got a used set in excellent condition from a guy only 1 hour drive from me for $20. Will attach the liners with #6 SS screws after I've washed and sprayed inside the wheelwells with RustCheck. All's well that ends well.
