hi all....gotta question. what would the approximate curb weight of a '73 F250 w/460 be? have to tow it to california at the end of the month with a towbar, and need to have an idea of the rolling weight.
The weight should be posted on the door. I think about 3000+. Remenber to tow with a bigger truck then your towing. What about a trailer? It would be alot easer.
well, i have to use a rental truck (penske, 25 ft with a diesel motor) but according to them, the truck is both too heavy and wide for a car dollie, and too long for a trailer. so i figure i will just hook up old reliable(tow bar) and get her there that way.
You souldn't really notice it behind the big truck. Also you shouldn't have any trouble with it wipping. Heck you may even beable to use the space and load your truck.
I'll wave when you pass through olympia. Good luck!
Just for reference, my '79 150 which is 2WD, Long Bed, w/302-C6 has an actual measured wieght of 4,180lbs. It seems like a 250 with a 460 should be a few hundred pounds more.
yeah, i am gonna disconnect the driveshaft at the rear end and throw it in the back of the moving truck....same thing i did when i towed my ranger from illinois to washington

when I go the the scales at the landfill, its around 4,700 lbs, but i do have stuff in the bed, stuff behind the seat, and two people.
my 78 f-150 4x4 with a 460 clocks in @ 5100# with a full tank of fuel and its a short bed with me in the truck its about 5250# that is what all the scrap yard slips I have laying around says
