I believe the newest version of the Superchip microtuner (1715) is called the Max Tri-Code or three program model. I seem to recall when I first researched this that Superchip previously had a single program model that I was looking at for my V10. Was that a different model number? I see a lot of sites that say "Blow out / over-stock" sale on the Superchip microtuner, but woner how you can tell if your getting the tri-mode model or an older version. Thanks!
I have a 1715, I think it's a POS, no tri-mode on it, shoulda been more careful when i bought it I guess. Haven't even had it that long, so be careful, don't be like me and pay full price for an ancient version. Good Luck
Both the tri-tune and single tune are model 1715. If it supports through 2003 its the tri-tune. We sell only the new units. Be careful! No need to check with others, we can handle it for you.
You should have returned the single tune unit, all Superchips dealers offer a money back guarantee.
I have been through this change.
I recently bought a 1715 from Motorhaven, when I received it there was only one tune, called superchips and they could update the firmware in it for free since I bought it from a SC dealer. I called Motorhaven and they promptly exchanged it for the updated version with the Tri-Tune. Thank You.
This is the advantages you have buying from an SC dealer.
The latest firmware date with Tri-Tune is Dec '03, the date is on the back of the tuner. I have had no other problems with mine.
Thanks for the info. In my extreme stupidity I bought from a local accesories dealer, but I know better for next time. I'll probably sell my tuner to a friend and get the tri-mode. Guess I should have saved the receipt and the box.
How did you get a 1 tune from us? We haven't had them since the week the new units came out. Was it a drop shipment? We drop ship from our WD if we're out of stock (rare) and if they pulled a fast one sending an old unit I'm going to raise some hell with them. Contact me privately via the Motorhaven site and I'll look into this.

It was shortly after the new ones came out and it was one they had missed while pulling the one tunes out of stock. It happens and I was the lucky one to get it. They promptly exchanged it with no hassle at all, you can't ask for better service than that.
