Post superchip microtuner

ken

i purchased a used 2000 f250 super duty with the powerstroke diesel. upon getting it home i found the name and phone number of the previous owner in the glove box. i called him on the phone and talked to him about the truck. he informed me that when he traded the truck in there was a super chip microtuner in the back seat that i did not receive. he also said he couldn't remember which program was in the computer when he traded it in. is there any way of knowing which program is in the computer now? If i purchase a microtuner and the 80hp program is in my computer will the microtuner store this program and download the new programs? will there be any problems with the microtuner if it doesn't see a stock program in my computer?

i went to a truck pull this past weekend seen 2 powerstrokes pull. upon the trucks coming to a stop and the drivers still having there foot to the floor there was not 1 tire spinning , this happened to both trucks . what is the cause of this and is there a cure? where was all the power going if the tires weren't spinning? was it being lost through clutch slippage in the trans? both trucks were 2000 f250 super duty with auto trans.

thanks for the help

No, there's no way you could know, other than by comparing it to another truck or putting it on a dyno.

The tuner will think whatever is in the computer is stock. Whenever you use it to return the truck to stock it will restore whatever was in there when you first plugged it in.

The Powerstrokes don't have enough torque at low RPMs until the turbo spools up. The tuenr will take care of this, giving it some chirp off the line.

the trucks were taking off good it was when they came to a stop the driver still had his foot in the throttle but there wasn't a tire spinning. Where was the power going if the tires weren't spinning? could the trans be slipping? i've read about the f 250 having low transmission line pressure possibly allowing the clutches to slip. have you heard anything about this, if so is there a fix?

i recently purchased an egt, trans temp, and boost guage. i tow a 9000 lb fifth wheel. can i tow this with the 80 hp program or will the egt get to high?

on my truck i noticed that ford didn't run the trans cooler through the radiator tank. i have an external cooler mounted in front of the radiator only. do you think this cooler is suffcient or should i upgrade to a bigger one?

thanks
