guys, i think that what you are looking at is a tube that lets heat into the airbox from the header, so that the motor will warm a little faster during cold weather. I leave mine on during the winter, however i go ahead and take it off for the summer time. So assuming that i know which part you are talking about, thats what it is. However i dont think it is a "pipe" is it? Its more like just regular flex hose (steel braided). Anyways, lemme know.
Ranger man Stan
just went out and looked at my '91, and mine certainly does not appear too. Appearently they had them on some of the years, perhaps they pulled it off? The link the the ranger station shows how to remove it, but i think that was on a '94 maybe? I dont know.... what does everyone else think? Does a '91 have one too?? Where is it at?? I certainly dont see it.
i'm pretty sure my 92 has one. i think its on the engine side towards the front of the air box. it runs out by the grille, and there is another flexible metal hose that hooks on to the header (94 engine with factory header).
no, thats not an air baffle. That hose is there to take warm air off of the header during cold weather so that the motor will warm up a little faster. I usually pull the hose off during the summer time, but leave it connected durring the winter. The baffle (if it had one) would/should be between the air box and the manifold, but all I've got is just the intake tube.
Yeah, thats what I am saying, I do not have anything that resembles that under my hood, especially anything that has anything to do with the air intake. And see where it is at? It's inbetween the air box and the intake manifold (not between the intake and the air box).
