i would like to remove the catalic converter on my 97 f-350 i took out fords flat pipe from turbo and installed a free flow pipe to converter i have a chip from u s gear which they no longer supply which seems to dump a lot of fuel and i was told that removal of the cat would cut down on my e.g.ts and give me better exhaust flow
That will help out a little, just check the emissions laws in your state before you do it. In Colorado, I have to keep mine.
I also have a US Gear chip and I haven't really noticed too high of egt's unless I'm pulling the trailer up a 6-7% grade, then I have to watch it a little bit. I would also upgrade to a Tymar intake to get more air into the engine. That'll help too.
