For me every day is a vacation. I am retired from my full time job but currently work part time at a college. However, I like it so much I consider it a vacation that I get paid for! And I love those days when my retirement check comes in!!!

Usually I take February off, but my Mrs. has a new employer so no vacation for her yet. We like to head South of the Border and rent a Beach House for the month. I go down first and get everything set up and ready for her. When she gets there I'm already starting to relax, and she can just let go! Last year I took off mid Dec, to mid Jan. and hung around for the Christmas stuff.

Currently 4 weeks a year plus one "personal day". I think right now I'm at 400+ hours of sick leave available...

Vacation?!?!? What the heck is that? Since I'm self-employed if I ain't workin' there ain't no $$ coming in. I've about had it with this working for yourself stuff. I'm seriously entertaining a standing offer to work for one of the top housing design firms in the US. My biggest problem will be not being able to take two or three hour breaks when I get burned out on a project.

I have to change my answer
I put it as weeks... as in 7 days a week
but if I go by 5 days a week, its 7.2 weeks a year...

We are given 2 weeks up to your 7th year. Then you get an extra week. At 14 years you have a total of 4 weeks. We also get 11 holidays a year to burn.

My previous employer after 5 years of being there gave me personal/sick/floating holidays, closed for 2 weeks around the holidays roughly 44 days. That's just shy of 9 weeks. My last year there my wife had our daughter and I got an additional 4 weeks of maternity leave. That's just shy of 13 weeks. Man I miss that much time off. Now I only get 2 weeks plus 10 holidays.

Hi,

I have normally 6 weeks in a year.
Since we have flexible time to work there is a possibility to get another 12 Days a year (one for a month)
With my overtime from my time account I have 10 weeks plus 12 days for this year.
